It’s out! It’s on Google Play at last, launched Good Friday, just last week.
And it’s got a great new name. A few weeks ago I realized that Music Reading Trainer – Guitar was a bit of a mouthful. So I dreamed up ReadGuitar. Explanatory and direct.
Then a few days after that, while I was panting my way round a weekly keep fit session, an even better name came to me – iReadGuitar. What an affirming and empowering sentence!
So now the free taster app is iReadGuitar and the paid (£1.99) full course app is iReadGuitar Pro.
Directly after the launch those six years of learning became, for a day or two, an unfamiliar feeling of nothing to do. Until I fell back down to earth and took a look at the future. What a lot of work is suddenly queuing up waiting to be done!
Marketing. Actually, more specifically, Social Marketing.
I’ve just bought a book on it – 500 Social Media Marketing Tips by Andrew Macarthy. I’ve only read a page or two but it already looks very promising. I’ll let you know.
I’ve also requested reviews from guitar magazines, posted on Facebook (Music Reading Trainer), emailed and Facebooked all my contacts, updated this website, asked for a review in my local newspaper (The Leicester Mercury) sent off for new business cards, informed a Cambridge University Professor about the app and started a conversation with a great musician friend about him writing the sister bass guitar version.
Now, for the first time, I have to come to grips with Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Snapchat, LinkedIn and much much more.
More adventures! And so much better than daytime TV!
